IVF abroad: a plain-English guide to IVF in Europe
IVF abroad means having your fertility treatment at a clinic in another country, usually for lower published prices, shorter donor waits or different eligibility rules. We list 44 clinics across 6 European countries, with IVF from €2,200 (clinic published prices, verified 30 August 2026).

How does IVF abroad work?
- Get your tests done at home. Most clinics ask for recent blood tests, AMH and a semen analysis before a video consultation. Your GP or a local clinic can often do these.
- Shortlist and compare clinics. Check who each country treats, what the published price includes, and whether success rates state their basis.
- Ask for a written, itemised quote. Confirm medication, embryo freezing, genetic testing and any frozen transfer before you book.
- Plan one or two trips. Stimulation monitoring can often start at home. Most patients travel for egg collection and transfer.
Is IVF cheaper abroad?
On published prices, the clinics we list start lower than London self-pay prices of around £6,000 to £8,000 per cycle (London Women's Clinic and CRGH 2026 price lists). Medication and travel narrow the gap, so compare the full cost of one cycle. Compare IVF cost in the UK vs abroad.
