IVF success rates by age: the clinics that actually publish them

Age is the single biggest factor in IVF success, yet most clinics publish only one headline number. Of the 44 clinics we list, these 10 publish age-stratified results we can show you side by side.

    Quick answer

    Updated August 2026

Age is the strongest predictor of IVF success. Across the 10 European clinics on IVF Got You that publish age-stratified data, own-eggs success is highest under 35 and falls sharply after 40, while egg donation rates stay comparatively stable across recipient ages. Figures are clinic-reported and use different measures (per transfer, per cycle, cumulative), so compare within a clinic's table before comparing across clinics.

What is the IVF success rate under 35?

Reported rates range from around 50% to over 80% per transfer depending on clinic and treatment type.

    Do rates drop after 40?

Yes for own-eggs IVF. Egg donation rates remain comparatively stable because donor age drives outcomes.

Why do clinics report different numbers?

No single European standard: some report per transfer, others per cycle or cumulatively.

    Read this before comparing

Clinics measure success differently: per embryo transfer, per cycle started, or cumulatively over several cycles. Per-transfer rates exclude patients who never reach transfer, which flatters the figure. Where a clinic publishes its methodology, we show it. All figures below are clinic-reported and provided as a guide only — your own prognosis depends on individual medical factors only a specialist can assess.
