IVF clinics in Málaga

The Gutenberg Centre Reproduction Unit was established in Málaga in 1987 and achieved the first IVF pregnancy in the province in 1989. According to Spanish Fertility Society data it performs the highest number of assisted reproduction treatments in the province of Málaga. The clinic states that it does not belong to a larger group and describes itself as a family clinic, occupying over 600 square metres with every stage of treatment carried out on site. Its 2024 reporting is unusually transparent: 649 treatment cycles, of which 25.7% were donor egg and 74.2% own-egg IVF, 100% of embryo transfers performed at blastocyst stage on day 5, and a multiple birth rate of 0%. Technology in use includes EmbryoScope with artificial intelligence and RI-Witness sample tracking. The team is led by Medical Director Dr Claudio Álvarez Pinochet, with Carolina Alonso as Embryologist and Egg Donation Programme Coordinator.
